11:39 pm - Updates Really

Looks like George Bush has struck again with the mortage meltdown. Meanwhile dirty tricks once again in Florida are aimed at throwing the Democrats into kaos without much success. And in this corner we have some bunch of hacks in the State Dept looking at Obama's passport info. Hmmmm it seems that the US is heading to hell once more in a handbasket and dragging the rest of te planet with them.

I feel safer here is Canada... :)

11:15 pm - Updates.....

Welp:

Mother is set for the time being with a few new items. The coffee maker was finally replaced with a decent one.

I keep looking at the media and I'm still finding that the whole thing is just completly vulgar from the word go. Too bad we don't have something like an ignore function on our TV sets so we can just filter out the garbage.

Anyhow!!

George Bush has once again screwed up in Pakistan, stay tuned for the Earth shattering Kaboom.....

08:19 pm - Phones and Family

Went out shopping yesterday and got a new cell phone on a 3 yr commitment with Rogers. It's a Sony Ericson W810i with a Walkman capability on it. I'm going to putting all my music on it for entertaining myself while doing Offline work. It's also a movie camera, still camera, radio, MP# player. All in all a sweet phone. I gave my sister the old Samsung and the spare SIM card they come with.

I also got an appointment with a optician to be tested for a new set of glasses. The ones I have are ages old.

My sister came up with her brood and we ate, talked, ate some more then they went back to Ottawa to continue getting ready to take possesion of their new home. We'll be seeing them in about two weeks..

That's me in my reduced Jedi Knight costume. The full garb is too hot and clumsy in a wheelchair.

Now that's a hot costume!!

That's her from last year.......

What would a con be without the 501st???

OK:

Had to send mother to hospital tonight. So far no word on the status of her condition other than she nearly killed herself pushing my wheelchair. Maybe now she'll take better care of herself.

UPDATE: They're keeping her overnight. Whew!!

Went to a concert last night after work then did a little pubbing. A friend from work was there posing for a painter they had doing some very talented portraits.

Ever hear of kinetic Sculpture?? Have a look, the music is also good.

I'm just this side of tired that I'm skipping the rest of my web surfing and getting into a cozy bed to sleep off the days activities.

I did some shopping for the cat and after getting to my destination going the wrong way on the bus, I accquired the materiel requested to keep this thing fed till late July when my sister comes to pick him up.. I'm going out again as well to pick up some tortilla chips and a bottle of salsa (mild) so I can have a snack.

Other than that alls quiet (YMMV)

Well if you must know, yes, I'm able to breath freely through both sides of the nose today and I feel better now.

On the other hand I bought this P.O.S. sewing machine from a upstart shop for $77.00 and it's just a pain. The machine jams when to bobbin in put in place and it's drove me and mother NUTS. Needless to say the damned thing is going back on Monday and I'm getting her a better one next week.

09:09 pm - Surgery

Well, it's been four days since I underwent rhinoplasty (got a nose job) to correct a deviated septum and clear out some excess material in my passages. The surgery went well but I still bleed like a stuck pig and I can't breath through the nose quite yet. I'm on antibiotics as well. I'm able to walk again after I thought for sure they had buggered up my muscles, that took about two days to correct. I'm now waiting to see how long it gonna take to allow me to nose breath again.

Here's looking at you kid.... :)

11:47 am - Jerry Falwell

One brainless hipocrite down, too many of them to go.

How many people has he turned off of religion or sent them elswhere to find faith without the politics.

At this point I am so disgusted with any religion that it makes me wonder just what the hell is going on with our society. Too many times religion has been used as the excuse to lead the masses to war for all the wrong reasons.

The right wing "We are the superior power on Earth" mentality has costed the US billions that could have been put to more peacefull purposes. And they'll be paying for it for decades. Pray the Iranians don't decide to cut the oil flow. If you want to bring the US to it's knees, starve them of their oil supply.

There needs to be some serious changes made in that country. First some sort of a constitutional amendment to ensure that the religous leaders can't influence policy in government.

Second: The Prime Directive. Yes it's from Star Trek, but it holds that there shall be abolutely no interference in the progression of a developing society. Saddam was contained until Baby Bush decided that they were going in to stop them from developing WMD. It turned out to be a lie and now we have the mess were in.

Third: Check you sources. The CIA should send there intelligence specialists to Journalism school to learn to get their info from reliable sources and have the evidence. Jane Fonda recently stated on Larry King that both Iraq and Viet Nam were sparked by a lie. I agree.

Altogether the US needs to flush the political toilet and rid themselves of the whole mess. Already the middle east is beginning to put together a colition to help Iraq truly rebuild. But the US needs to clean up it's act and make a serios effort to fostering change without cocking back the hammer every time. There's too many example of US interference in the affairs of other countries leading to a worse situation than what was there before.

Next time a dictator tries to stir things up, just box them in then wait them out.

Nice day today!

Sat out by the tracks and watched frieghters trundle by. At one point I kept hearing a squeak and looked down on the tracks to see that the rail was giving about 2 inches every time there was a loaded rail car on it. Needless to say I told them about it and added the reminder about that huge wreck we had in March. 30 cars piled up. They dragged them to a lot near by and cut all of them up for scrap......

Other wise it was quiet for me. Tomorrow though I have to iron some shirts for work......
